All I see are shadows up ahead,
as the past just fades away,
and the fear of what awaits tomorrow
paralyzes me today.
Surrounded by the chaos
of everything that's doomed to burn,
and I'm powerless to do anything
but sit and wait my turn.
And as the walls close in,
I whisper to myself...
The connections that we make in life
anchor us to reality,
but when all those bonds are broken,
will we be set adrift at sea?
Of one thing I'm pretty certain:
That we all will die alone.
But I still don't know if the lucky ones
are the first ones to be gone.
And as the walls close in,
I whisper to myself
Everything is fine.
In a hell of my own design,
I've got all the time
in the world.
Everything is fine.

Fear
03:29
|
|||
Always repeating the mistakes of the past
by holding on til the very last.
Alarms are ringing, and you know you need to act.
Can you move ahead and not look back?
Is it for the love of hopeless causes
or fear of failure,
that you still hesitate?
It's the fear that creeps from the back of your mind,
stabbing you from behind.
It happens every time.
Why does the comfort of the devil that you know
defeat the fear of the one you don't?
Tell yourself that you can break this pattern any day,
but deep down you know that you probably won't.
Every moment that you wait for an easy escape
is time that you've thrown away.
But fear creeps from the back of your mind,
stabbing you from behind.
It happens every time.
They always say good things come to those who wait,
but all you ever got was regret.
Was it for the love of hopeless causes,
or fear of failure,
that you gave your life away?
It's the fear that creeps from the back of your mind,
stabbing you from behind.
Fear creeps, stabbing you from behind,
the unseen enemy
in your mind.

Run Away
04:40
|
|||
What did you expect to hear
when you asked
"What are you thinking?"
Do you really want to know
how far apart we are?
Even when we are near,
dreams will wander far from here.
and we both know how it would go
from the very start.
As the voices inside say
You can always try to hide
but you can never run away.
Now you've got your stage lit up
and you've memorized your lines.
If I peaked behind the curtain,
what would I find?
In front it may look pristine,
but backstage, it's not so clean.
Your marquis changes every month,
but it's the same old show inside.
And the voices still say
You can always try to hide
but you can never run away.
We've all got a wall around us.
It's easy enough to find.
You build it up to keep everyone
on the other side.
But soon that wall becomes a prison,
and though you want to escape,
the longer that you hide inside,
the longer you will stay.
Time has taught me who I am,
and the path from whence I came
but you are still bound by the rules
of these games you play.
The wall between me and you
has holes where I can see through.
The longer that you hide inside,
the longer you will stay
and the voices all say
You can always try to hide
but you can never run away.

Silver Line
04:09
|
|||
I don't know if I was born this way,
if I was kissed by the lips of a god,
but one night I closed my eyes
and they opened to the worlds beyond.
I'm a visitor to countless places.
Come across things you cannot conceive.
Seen a million different heavens and hells,
full of souls too afraid to leave.
Everywhere I go I see
prisoners of their own beliefs.
All refusing to be free.
I'm sailing out on the silver line,
falling through the fabric of time.
When I'm lost, to find my way
I step into the void, and slip away.
After all of this I know
that death is not the end,
but I'm far from ready to go there yet
because this is where my work begins.
And if you find yourself trapped in
eternal hopelessness,
I can show you which way to go to get out,
but you've got to do the rest.
All the gods to which you pray,
illusions keeping truth at bay.
Tricks of the mind at play.
Sailing out on the silver line,
falling through the fabric of time.
Never lost, I know the way.
I slide into the void, and slip away.
Sailing out on the silver line,
falling through the fabric of time.
When you're lost, to find your way,
break the illusions keeping truth at bay.
Dive into the void and drift away.

Over
03:49
|
|||
Thought you had a bad day.
At least that's something that you say
when you need to get away.
But it's always those feelings
that float within your mind
for a few moments at a time,
they can take you by surprise.
Over and over,
with new pain to shoulder
the weight of the world, it's a beast
to feed upon.
Older and older,
as I have grown colder,
You remain the same.
Thought you had a good day,
but just like every one-act play,
it makes a statement
then it fades away.
But it's followed by the rain falling,
paying back in kind,
for every second of sunshine,
an hour spent drowning in time.
Over and over,
with new pain to shoulder
the weight of the world, it's a beast
to feed upon.
Older and older,
as you have grown colder,
I remain the same.
I will begin again,
though I fall astray.
Though it's happening over and over,
and over again.
I will win in that end.
Over and over,
with new pain to shoulder
the weight of the world, it's a beast
to feed upon.
Older and older,
as we have grown colder,
Yet we remain the same.
We will begin again,
though we fall astray.
Though it's happening over and over,
and over again.
We will win in the end.
